Recently, WWE Hall of Famer John Bradshaw Layfield (JBL) revealed that Brock Lesnar once offered to lose against him in a WWE Live event in Abilene, Texas, in 2002. JBL had a history with Abilene as he played Football for Abilene Christian University before shifting his focus on pro-wrestling.

It’s quite rare when the Beast Incarnate himself offers to lose against someone, but JBL was an exception, especially before the Abilene, Texas crowd, where he was treated like a hometown hero.

The Hall of Famer JBL revealed this incident while speaking in a YouTube Q&A session. He revealed that Brock Lesnar unselfishly asked him to lose the match because he knew that the Hall of Famer had some friends present among the crowd. Here’s what JBL said,
“I was working with Brock in Abilene, and I said, ‘Hey, Brock, I wanna talk to you,’ and he goes, ‘Yeah, yeah, yeah, your college buddies are here. I’m gonna put you over.’ I said, ‘Brock, they don’t care who goes over. I couldn’t care less. You win, I win, it doesn’t matter.’ I said, ‘We’re going to a place afterwards,’ and so that’s what I was telling him.”

WWE Smackdown: Brock Lesnar prepping up for a mega showdown at WWE Crown Jewel
Brock Lesnar is all set to challenge Roman Reigns for the Universal Title at the WWE Crown Jewel event. The match will be Lesnar’s first since losing the WWE Championship title to Drew McIntyre at Wrestlemania 36 in April 2020.
