Why did Triple H present Roman Reigns a new Undisputed WWE Universal Championship?
On May 27, 2023, the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns completed 1000 days as the WWE Universal Champion. However, because of WWE Night of Champions taking place on the same day, Reigns delayed his celebration, which took place on Friday Night SmackDown this week.
Thus, on WWE SmackDown, to honor Roman Reigns’ historic reign as the WWE Universal Champion for over 1000 days, Triple H presented Roman Reigns with a new Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. The new title is different from the one Reigns previously held.

On Friday Night SmackDown this week, Triple H walked into the ring and called out Roman Reigns. Reigns then came out accompanied by Solo Sikoa and Paul Heyman. Following that, Triple H congratulated Roman Reigns for completing 1000 days. With that, Triple H presented Reigns with a new Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.
With Celebrations going on, The Usos walked out. Jimmy Uso and Roman Reigns had a staredown, followed by a war of words. Meanwhile, Jimmy warned Sikoa about Reigns’ intentions. Reigns then handed Sikoa the mic, who choose to side with his Brothers.
Following that, Jey Uso tried to calm things down and Jimmy addressed Reigns as his brother. Roman then hugged Jimmy but suddenly said “No” on the mic, which resulted in Sikoa delivering a Samoan Spike to Jimmy. With that, Jey took care of Jimmy, while Roman Reigns along with Paul Heyman and Solo Sikoa walked away.
