WWE Smackdown: 3 Superstars who could challenge Roman Reigns after Crown Jewel- Roman Reigns is set to defend the Universal Championship against the Beast Incarnate Brock Lesnar at the Crown Jewel event.

If spoilers and rumors are to be believed, the Tribal Chief will retain his title after the Crown Jewel event. WWE’s next major PPV will be WWE Survivor Series in November, wherein Roman Reigns will be facing the WWE Champion Big E from Monday Night Raw. Well, that match won’t be a part of a feud or storyline because Roman will represent Smackdown in Survivor Series, whereas, Big E will represent Raw in a PPV themed on brand supremacy.

In this post, we have listed three names from the Smackdown roster who could challenge Roman Reigns if he manages to retain the Universal Championship. Now, without any further ado, let us dive into the names who could emerge as the next challengers for Roman Reigns’ Universal Championship after Crown Jewel.

WWE Smackdown: Jeff Hardy

The veteran Jeff Hardy has expressed his desire many times to lock horns with Roman Reigns before he hangs his boots once and for all. Jeff Hardy has been teasing the return of “Willow,” a gimmick which he has used brilliantly in the past in TNA (now Impact Wrestling).

Willow is the alter-ego of Jeff Hardy, and he would like to use it if he starts a feud with Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship on Friday Night Smackdown. Will we see Willow vs. Roman Reigns in the future? Maybe!

WWE Smackdown: Sheamus

It’s been a while since the Celtic Warrior Sheamus has held possession of a World Championship title. Sheamus is a former World Champion, and he recently got drafted in WWE Draft 2021 to Friday Night Smackdown.

Currently, Sheamus is on a hiatus nursing his injured nose, and there is no word on when he will be back. Looking at the sluggish Smackdown roster, The Celtic Warrior as a babyface (if he returns as Babyface after his recovery) should be one of the apt challengers for the Tribal Chief in the future.

WWE Smackdown: Drew McIntyre

We all know why the Scottish Warrior Drew McIntyre got drafted to Friday Night Smackdown. Drew McIntyre is rumored to be the first man who will challenge Roman Reigns after the Crown Jewel event.

The newly updated rosters will be in effect from October 23, a day after WWE Crown Jewel. Drew McIntyre has been touted to take the Universal Championship from the Tribal Chief at some stage. He may not defeat him in the first attempt, but this feud will supposedly continue for long, maybe till Wrestlemania 38. And, of course, the Scottish Warrior is perhaps the best option to dethrone Roman Reigns.
