WWE Smackdown- Smackdown Results and Highlights: Check out the big highlights and what happened on WWE Friday Night Smackdown Episode on 09th Oct-  The night witnessed two King of the Ring and Queen’s Crown Tournament first-round matches. Universal Champion Roman Reigns & his special Counsel Paul Heyman sent a cold message to the Beast Incarnate Brock Lesnar. The show was headlined by the brutal assault of the Rated-R Superstar Edge on Seth Rollins. Check the results and highlights of the show in this blog.

WWE Smackdown Results & Highlights: Edge brutally annihilated Seth Rollins. Roman Reigns & Paul Heyman sent a cold message to Brock Lesnar

WWE Smackdown- Smackdown Results and Highlights:

Seth Rollins demands an answer for his challenge from Edge: Seth Rollins wants a rematch against Edge and he seeks an answer right now from the Rated-R Superstar.

Seth Rollins asks Edge to come out and answer his challenge. He then said that he just want a match where Edge can choose the place, venue, or even the stipulation. Edge didn’t come out even after Seth Rollins repeatedly called him.

Seth Rollins went on and said that Edge should admit that Seth Rollins is no longer Edge-lite. He then said that by not coming out he is disrespecting his fans and family. Enough of Seth’s Big Mouth talking and Edge finally arrived. He went straight into the ring and Speared Rollins for good.

Rollins rolled out of the ring, but Edge didn’t let him escape as he bashed into him on the announce table. He then assaulted Seth Rollins and sent him in the ring. Edge brought the steel chair rod to put Seth in a crippler cross-face, but Rollins somehow escaped by hitting an elbow on Edge’s side face.

Rollins was shell-shocked to see this side of Edge. He was perplexed and escaping the assault by walking backstage on the ramp when Edge said, “You, me- Hell in a Cell.” This means Edge will face Seth Rollins in a Hell in a Cell match.

 

 

Backstage: Becky Lynch signs the contract for the triple threat Smackdown Women’s Championship match next week.

 

 

Finn Balor vs. Cesaro: The two men started off by shaking hands, and then it was all business. Cesaro started working on Finn’s hand before the latter caught Cesaro in a side headlock. Cesaro was finding it hard to get out of the headlock, but he finally did by catching a running Balor in a back-first slam on his thigh. 

The two men then exchanged some offense, as Cesaro included his signature uppercuts, and Balor stomped on the chest of the Swiss Superman. Balor sent Cesaro outside and tried a running dive from the top rope, but Cesaro came inside and rocked Balor with another uppercut. He then sent Balor outside the ring near the announce table as we head into a commercial. 

As we returned from the commercial, both men were inside the ring, and it was Balor, who planted an elbow on Cesaro’s chest to floor him. Cesaro then gained some momentum by hitting three uppercuts across the ring corners. He was going for the fourth uppercut, but this time, Balor caught him with a sling blade. 

The action continued for a while and now we saw both men on the top turnbuckle. Cesar went for a vicious Superplex on Cesaro and the Prince felt the pain. In the closing moments, Balor first dived outside the ring on Cesaro from the top rope and rolled him inside. He then dropkicked Cesaro on the turnbuckle and placed a perfect Coup de Grace for a win to advance to the semifinal.

Backstage: Naomi approached Sonya Deville & Adam Pearce to complain about the fact that she wasn’t considered for the Queen’s Crown Tournament. Sonya said that Naomi doesn’t deserve to be in the tournament. Sonya further added that Naomi will get her first match on Smackdown next week against her.

 

 

Happy Talk Show; Special Guest- The Street Profits: Happy Corbin and Madcap Moss started the show with a joke, but their segment was cut short by Kevin Owens who furiously rushed to the ring and attacked both Moss & Corbin. However, his attack was shortened by the numbers game as both Moss & Corbin ended up standing tall over Kevin Owens for the third week in a row.

Backstage: Mace was interviewed backstage who will be joining the Smackdown locker room officially from October 22. Mace revealed his plans to move ahead as a singles competitor and said that he will annihilate everyone in his path.

 

 

Liv Morgan vs. Carmella- Queen’s Crown First Round: Before the bell rang, Carmella went outside the ring to wear her face protective mask. Carmella returned to the ring and Liv went after her. As Liv was beating Carmella with some fierce hand strikes, Carmella went for her submission which Liv Morgan barely survived.

Liv then went for her finisher but Carmella survived as she put her leg on the bottom rope while Liv went for a cover. Liv then went for a step up Enzuigiri that completely rocked Carmella. After a few exchanges of blows, the match couldn’t last long as it just took Carmella a superkick to floor Liv Morgan and advance to the semi-finals of the Queen’s Crown Tournament.

Roman Reigns’ message to the Beast Brock Lesnar: The Tribal Chief Roman Reigns comes out to the ring with his cousins The Usos and Special Counsel Paul Heyman to send a message to the Beast Incarnate Brock Lesnar.

Roman Reigns starts by asking the San Jose crowd to acknowledge him. He then said that his Special Counsel Paul Heyman had one task in hand and that is to ensure that The Usos stays on Smackdown, and he did the same. Roman then asked the San Jose crown to acknowledge Paul Heyman.

Roman then asked Paul to be a wise man and admit that he was the one behind making Brock Lesnar a Free Agent. Paul Heyman gave a diplomatic answer and didn’t directly say that he was the one to make Brock Lesnar a Free Agent.

Paul said that Roman Reigns will conquer the conquerer as he will defeat the Beas Incarnate Brock Lesnar at Crown Jewel. Roman wasn’t amused with Paul’s words and asked him to say all this to Brock Lesnar on the camera. Paul proved his loyalty towards his Tribal Chief and delivered a cold message to the Beast Incarnate Brock Lesnar telling him that he will be defeated by the Tribal Chief at Crown Jewel. Reigns was impressed and all the members of Bloodline left the ring with Paul Heyman following them.

Toni Storm vs. Zelina Vega: Zelina went for a kick, but Toni caught her and placed her foot back on the mat before giving Zelina a rearview. Zelina then bashed onto Toni and hit her with some heavy right strikes.

Zelina then wrapped her arm around Toni’s neck and stretched her for good. After going through all this, Toni returned with her offense by planting Zelina’s tail bone on her knee. The two women displayed their offense for a while before Toni Storm took Zelina on her back for a sliding pin-fall. Vega somehow didn’t let that happen and turned that into a sunset flip to earn a victory by pinning Toni Storm.

Backstage: Seth Rollins talks about his actions from the last week. He explains about the double standards people are talking about when he sent Edge out on a stretcher at the MSG edition of Smackdown. Seth wasn’t regretting a bit what he did to Edge at the MSG edition of Smackdown or last week, as he still focused on facing him for one final time to see who is the better man.

 

 

Sami Zayn vs. Rey Mysterio: Sami Zayn went for the Helluva Kick right after the bell rang, but Rey escaped from the harm’s way and went for a roll-up pin for a two-count. The two men went back & forth before Zayn floored Rey with a Powerbomb.

Rey recovered well from the Powerbomb and after some strikes back & forth, sent Sami outside the ring. Rey then stunned Sami with a Sunset Hurricana. The action returned in the ring again and this time Rey took Sami to the corner and hit him with some lusty right-hand strikes. Sami retaliated by sending Rey face-first on the other corner and the legend rolled outside the ring where his son Dominik came out to see his father. Time for a commercial.

After the commercial, both men were inside the ring again Sami Zayn was hitting Rey with some heavy right-hand strikes. He then flipped Rey on the bottom turnbuckle and went for the cover, but Rey held his nerves. Rey also went for a quick cover later with a move of his own, but Sami Zayn survived. The action then went to the top turnbuckle from where Rey Mysterio stunned Sami with a Springboard Hurricana.

In the closing moments, Sami removed one of the turnbuckle pads to slam Rey head-first on it. Dominik tried to help his father by putting the pad back, but Rey asked him to leave that. As Rey was telling Dominik to get down of the apron, Sami came from behind, pushed Rey onto Dominik, and went for a roll-up pin for a win.

Sasha Banks, Bianca Belair & Becky Lynch Contract Signing: Adam Pearce & Sonya Deville kicked off the contract signing by introducing all the three competitors. Becky was sitting on a chair on the ramp, Sasha Banks was standing on the announce table, while Bianca Belair along with Adam Pearce & Sonya Deville was in the ring.

The three women started off on the mic simultaneously. Becky was the first one to start, followed by Sasha & Bianca. The talking soon turned into an attack. Banks attacked Bianca from behind and Becky also entered the scene. The three women went back & forth exchanging some heavy blows. Ultimately it was Bianca Belair who was standing tall after she hit a Kiss of Death on Becky Lynch on the table, while Sasha Banks was already on the table.
