WWE Smackdown Predictions: Superstars who could step up and challenge Roman Reigns- Brock Lesnar got suspended indefinitely last week on Friday Night Smackdown. He is no longer in the Universal Title picture until next year, which means WWE has to look beyond the Beast Incarnate to challenge Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship.
Roman Reigns has reigned supreme inexplicably over the entire Blue brand roster in the last year or so. However, after WWE Draft, Smackdown’s roster has changed a bit. There are some new faces on the roster now who could step up and challenge the Tribal Chief. That being said, here we have listed three superstars who could be the front-runner to face Roman Reigns for the Universal Title in the absence of Brock Lesnar.

WWE Smackdown Predictions: Jeff Hardy
Veteran Jeff Hardy has never shied away from expressing his desire to face the Tribal Chief at least once before he hangs his boots for good. The Charismatic Enigma is a Grand-Slam Champion WWE and has the World Championships multiple times in his decorated career.
However, the Universal Championship is the one title that has eluded his career. Will Hardy be the one to step up and challenge the Tribal Chief for the title he has never held? Or will his alter-ego ‘Willow’ confront Reigns to set up a future clash between the two? Either way, it is surely going to be an intriguing battle.

WWE Smackdown Predictions: Sheamus
The Celtic Warrior Sheamus moved to Friday Night Smackdown during the WWE Draft. Sheamus is another Grand Slam Champion in WWE and has held every championship he has fought for, but not the Universal title.
If we talk about the physical specimen, both Sheamus and Roman have a similar built structure and could complement each other in the ring pretty well. They have had several encounters in the past when Roman was a babyface & Sheamus was a heel.

WWE Smackdown Predictions: Drew McIntyre
The Scottish Warrior and the former 2-time WWE Champion Drew McIntyre seem to be the apt individual to put an abrupt halt to Roman Reigns’ heavily pushed title reign. Drew McIntyre is perhaps the biggest babyface in the company right now, and he is surely the one the company is looking forward to dethroning Roman.
However, the big question here is, will WWE want Drew McIntyre to start a feud with Roman Reigns right now? Brock Lesnar is definitely due for a rematch against the Tribal Chief for the Universal title. Therefore, putting the Scottish Warrior in the middle of all the fuss as a scapegoat will tarnish the hard he has put together to be at the top. Will WWE risk him at this stage?- This remains an interesting debate.
