“I have a message that is much bigger than my dreams in pro wrestling. Despite my best efforts, I will not be able to deliver this message while working with WWE. Therefore, I am requesting my release from WWE.”

WWE Smackdown: Mustafa Ali doesn’t want to be in WWE
Mustafa Ali is one of the highly praised talents in WWE, and even Paul Heyman has acknowledged Mustafa’s in-ring abilities. Ali signed a lucrative deal with the company in 2016 to wrestle in the Cruiserweight Classics. He rose to fame with his impressive high-skilled in-ring abilities and then made it to the main roster in late 2017.

His last match for the company came at the October 29, 2021 episode of Smackdown, where he lost to Drew McIntyre. After that match, he took a paternity break and welcomed his third child, a baby girl named Dua, in late November. During the same month, Ali posted a “better America” promo that was apparently in talks to be used as part of a storyline, but the plans got nixed.

WWE Smackdown: Ali wasn’t impressed with his treatment in WWE
Mustafa li was one of the most highly praised talents in the company, however, he always had a feeling that he was one of the most underutilized talents in WWE. In an episode of WWE’s The Bump last November, Ali revealed that he was the “most unheard voice in the history of WWE.”
“I think I’m the most unheard voice in the history of WWE,” Ali said, partially in character. “With zero hesitation in my voice, with no flinch whatsoever, I will say pound for pound, I am the most underutilized talent in this company’s history. Does that put it into perspective for you?
Will WWE grant Ali’s request for a release from the company? Or will they convince him to stay in the company by any means? With the way WWE’s roster, especially the Smackdown roster is getting emptied, the company should not let go of a talent like Mustafa Ali.
