WWE Smackdown- Smackdown Results and Highlights:

Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns Contract Signing- Time for the Biggest Contract Signing of the Year. Roman Reigns was the first one to make his way to the ring and just when Roman was in the ring, Brock’s music hit.

The Beast made his way out to the ramp and went for the same intimidating walk he has been doing ever since he returned at Summerslam. Brock went into the ring and sat on the chair with his legs up on the table in a relaxed manner.

Roman signed the contract first after his Special Counsel went through the terms written on it. Adam Pearce was also there to the smooth conduction of the segment, and he offered the contract to Brock to sign it. Brock signed the contract without even reading it. This made Roman Reigns say, Brock what kind of dumb ass you are that you didn’t even read the contract?

Brock laughed at first after what Roman said. He grabbed the mic then and said, “I already read the damn contract this morning ……. with my advocate Paul Heyman!” This statement left Roman bewildered, and the segment ended with Brock walking out of the ring laughing at Roman Reigns.

 

 

Sasha Banks vs. Becky Lynch- Sasha Banks vs. Becky Lynch after two long years. Yes, we are up for it. Once the two ladies were inside the ring ready for a fight, Bianca Belair’s music hit. The EST of WWE came out took a seat and joined the commentary team.

After the bell rang, Sasha and Becky started their match with a classic wrestling lock before Becky floored Banks with a shoulder block. Becky tried a leg drop but missed her maneuver. This gave Banks an opening to start her offense.

Banks had her moments with her offense, but Beck was again in command as she went for a double leg stomp on Sasha and bumped her into the mat right near the corner post. After a while, Sasha was back in control as she sent Becky to the apron near the corner post. Sasha then went for a running double knee on the apron to the corner post where Becky was standing. Becky however escaped harm’s way and Banks went right into the corner post, knee-first.

Becky was in total control now after Sasha Banks was feeling the pain in her knees. Becky attacked Sasha for good and her offense were proving too good for the Boss to handle. Banks somehow got into her own and gave a tribute to the late Eddie Guerrero by hitting his famous “3 Amigos” perfectly on the Smackdown Women’s Champion.

That was the only high point for Banks for a while because Becky again got into the groove and slammed her shoulder-first into the corner post. Becky was cruising, but Banks was resilient too. Banks got another opportunity to send Becky to the apron corner and this time she bashed into her knee-first successfully.

The two ladies were going back & forth with their offense and Banks finally got a moment to place her signature move Back Stabber. The effect of the move saw Becky went outside the ring near the announce table and Sasha placed her Bank Statement submission on the outside.

Sasha then rolled Becky inside and placed a frig splash perfectly. She went for the cover, but it was a close 2-count. Both ladies were going back & forth with their offense. The action once again shifted near the announce table where Becky by mistake hit Bianca Belair with a vicious right hand. In the closing moments, Bianca used her long braid to good effect and hit Becky with it. This gave Sasha Banks to hit the Back Stabber yet again to Becky Lynch in the match and she pinned the Smackdown Women’s Champion.

Street Fight for the Smackdown Tag-Team Titles- The Usos vs. The Street Profits- Time for a street Fight. All the four members started off in a rush and bashed into each other. Dawkins hit a neck breaker on Jey and both men went outside the ring. Meanwhile inside, it was Montez Ford who took care of Jimmy Uso.

Ford was all over Jimmy, but Jey came from behind to save his brother and slammed Ford back-first on the mat. It was all chaos as every individual was making sure their moves were on the money and were better than their opponents.

Ford went over the top turnbuckle on the outside to splash over the Usos. The Street Profits then took out a table from beneath the ring and just when they were trying to place the table, the Usos dived from the middle rope before going into the commercial.

After the commercial, Jimmy & Dawkins were in the ring, while Jey was outside and he took out a Kendo stick from under the ring. Dawkins fell prey to a vicious Kendo stick attack and all of a sudden, Jimmy too brought the Kendo Stick and the Usos viciously attacked Dawkins with the Kendo Stick strikes.

Ford came to the rescue for his partner and went for a crossbody splash on The Usos. He tried to put halt to The Usos’ momentum but after a few offenses, a double superkick from the Usos was enough to contain Montez Ford. The action was more than swift and the Superkicks too as The Usos planted one double superkick on Angelo Dawkins as well.

Later, Ford went for a splash on Jimmy and timed it perfectly. While he was going for a cover, Jey dragged him outside the ring and slammed him back-first on a table. Now, Dawkins was all alone in the ring with The Usos. Both Jimmy and Jey went for a superkick on either side of the face of Dawkins followed by a double Uso Splash to roll curtains on a grueling encounter.

Happy Talk with happy Corbin & Madcap Moss- Happy Corbin & Madcap Moss make fun of Kevin Owens by cracking jokes on him. Moss was the one who was coming up with the jokes and started cracking jokes on the new (after WWE Draft) roster of Smackdown.

While Moss was speaking, Corbin was laughing at his jokes. Finally, the segment was interrupted by the Intercontinental Champion Shinsuke Nakamura who just danced around the ring to end the segment.

 

 

 

Queen’s Crown Tournament Semifinal- Carmella vs. Zelina Vega- The two friends started off with the classic wrestling lock before both the ladies simultaneously attempted a roll-up pin. Carmella took Zelina down by going for an arm hold.

Zelina got out of the hold by using the ropes and then ran into Carmella striking her fiercely by using her striking abilities. This led Carmella to go outside the ring to wear her face mask, however, Liv Morgan was present holding Carmella’s mask and didn’t give it to her.

Finally, Carmella had to return to the ring without the mask and Zelina Vega was quick to take the advantage of the slight distraction as she rolled up Carmella for a pinfall win.

Seth Rollins is in the ring- The King of “Weird” Suits is in the ring.

Seth Rollins started off by laughing out at the fact that Edge thinks that he will defeat him at Crown Jewel. He said that Edge can’t defeat him inside the Hell in Cell at Crown JEwel because Edge has finally admitted that he (Seth Rollins) is not Edge lite, which means Seth Rollins is better than Edge.

Seth then said that mentally and physically he has the edge over the Rated-R Superstar and he is not intimidated or afraid to face Edge inside Hell in a Cell. While Seth was speaking, crowd in attendance started chanting ” We want Edge.” This pissed off Seth but he continued further.

He said that Edge won’t bet him inside the Cell because he has been inside the Hell in a Cell more times than Edge has. He added that he knows what that structure has done to people, to him. Therefore, Seth Rollins was confident that he will have the edge over the Rated-R Superstar Edge.

 

 

Backstage- Sasha Banks talks about how she will beat the hell out of Becky Lynch tonight and take the Smackdown Women’s Championship from her at WWE Crown Jewel.

 

 

Sonya Deville vs. Naomi- Time for Sonya Deville’s much-awaited in-ring return. Time for Sonya Deville vs. Naomi. Sonya Deville has been out of in-ring action for 14 months, it would be interesting to see how her body responds inside the squared circle once again.

Sonya Deville vs. Naomi- Just when we thought Sonya will finally return to in-ring action, the WWE authority figure came out to the ramp and said that Naomi will have a match tonight but not against her, but against her and Shayna Baszler.

The match started with Sonya slapping on Naomi’s face. After the slap, Sonya escaped from the ring, and Naomi was left with Shayna Baszler in the ring. Baszler was rocked with an overhead kick and then she went outside the ring to chase down Sonya.

Sonya entered the ring again and used Shayna as her shield but Naomi floored the submission machine with a flying overhead kick from the middle rope. Naomi was finally caught in the numbers game though when she was attempting to dive on Shayna off the top turnbuckle.

Sonya hit some vicious right hands on her gut while Shayna held her from behind. In the closing stages, Shayna took Naomi out with her sleeper hold submission and Sonya pinned Naomi by putting her foot on the latter’s body.

King of the Ring Semifinal- Finn Balor vs. Sami Zayn- The two men started off with a classic wrestling hold before Balor took Sami down by working on his left hand. Sami got out of Finn’s hold and started an offense of his own to stun Balor.

Balor flipped Sami with a rundown but it was Zayn who was working perfectly on Finn Balor by bashing him into the ring ropes and then wrapping his arms around his neck. Balor somehow managed to break the neck hold and sent Sami outside the ring with a rundown. Balor then jumped over the top rope on the outside to land on Zayn, as we go into a commercial.

As we returned from the commercial, both men were inside the ring and Sami bashed Balor face-first on the top turnbuckle. Just when it looked like Sami was in his zone, Balor countered his momentum with a Pele Kick. He then took Sami to the apron and slammed him face-first on the corner post.

Balor hoisted Sami on the top turnbuckle and tried to go for a superplex, but Sami denied by pushing Balor back on the mat. Sami went for a splash but got caught by a dropkick. Balor looked the carry on with momentum, but Sami countered with a thunder suplex followed by a back exploder slam on the corner.

Sami went for two quick roll-up covers in under 30 minutes but Balor survived both times. After exchanging some offense, Balor took Sami down with slingblade followed by a Coupe de Grace to end the match and advance to the finals of the King of the Ring tournament.

Edge kicks off the night- The Rated-R Superstar kicks off Friday Night Smackdown. Edge took the mic and started off by saying it all started 7 years back and now we are here. Edge touched upon the fact that he wanted to become a Universal Champion but it was Seth Rollins who never let that happen.

Edge then talked about how Seth Rollins invaded his house a place where he lives with his family, he laughs with his daughters and it is a place where he lives freely. The Rated-R Superstar continued by saying that he underestimated Seth Rollins and that is why he defeated him at MSG and stretchered him out of the arena. Finally, Edge agreed that Rollins isn’t Edge-Lite but Seth Freakin Rollins.

He said, “you’re the only guy that comes close to matching my passion, my intensity, my OBSESSION with this!” Are you Edge-Lite? No, you are SETH FREAKIN’ ROLLINS!.” He concluded the segment by saying that at Crown Jewel in the Hell in a Cell match, he will Scar Rollins’ soul, a scar from which he will never ever heal.
