WWE Smackdown: Drew McIntyre out with legitimate injury- Former WWE Champion Drew McIntyre is seemingly suffering a legitimate injury and will be off WWE Tv for a while.
WWE Smackdown: Happy Corbin and Madcap Moss assaulted the Scottish Warrior in a backstage beatdown at the WWE Day 1 PPV event. The attack ended with Moss wrapping a chair around Drew’s neck and Corbin smashing it with a lighting rig. After the assault, WWE announced on Twitter that McIntyre suffered a cervical neck strain with severe contusions during the attack, but his layoff wasn’t mentioned.

Earlier, it was speculated that the assault was orchestrated for a storyline injury, but now it has been learned that there is more to it. According to PWInsider, the backstage assault happened because Drew was dealing with some legitimate neck issues for the past few weeks and needed to undergo some medical tests.

With the attack, WWE has made his injury a part of the storyline as well & the Scottish Warrior will undergo the much-needed medical tests he has been avoiding courtesy of a hefty schedule. After the assault, McIntyre was seen leaving the State Farm Arena with a neck brace, and he will be off WWE TV for an undisclosed period.

Besides the Scottish Warrior Drew McIntyre, Ridge Holland also got injured last night at the WWE Day 1 PPV event. He broke his nose during the match at the kick-off show, where he teamed up with Sheamus to take on Ricochet & Cesaro. Like Drew McIntyre, Ridge Holland is also expected to be off from WWE TV for a while.
