WWE Smackdown: Finn Balor returned to the main roster on the July 16 episode of WWE Smackdown after a successful second stint in WWE NXT. Ever since his return to the Blue brand, people have been buzzing whether the former Universal Champion will ever return with “The Demon” persona or not.
Now, Balor has himself discussed the same in an interview with WWE Deutschland. Here’s what he said,
“You are hitting me with the hard questions,” Balor joked initially when asked about the Demon persona. “Yeah, obviously yeah. I feel like ‘The Demon’ definitely has a future. But right now, I am very focused on ‘The Prince’ and this current invention of the character and the direction that we are going in. But I’m sure we’ll get back to ‘The Demon’ at some stage.”
WWE Smackdown: The Demon was born in NJPW
It was the New Japan Pro Wrestling where Balor’s Demon persona was born. He carried the same trait over in WWE on the Black & Gold brand and then on the main roster too. His first-ever Universal Championship win also came in the Demon persona when he defeated Seth Rollins at WWE Summerslam 2018.
WWE Smackdown: What’s next for Finn Balor?
Balor is all set to collide with Baron Corbin this week on Friday Night Smackdown. The match was locked after Corbin attacked Balor from behind during his contract signing segment for a Universal Championship match against Roman Reigns at WWE Summerslam.

Corbin’s attack meant that Balor was denied from signing the contract & John Cena took advantage as he came rushing down the ring, took Corbin out of the equation, and signed the contract with utmost ease and grace. Finn Balor vs. Baron Corbin is the only match announced for this Friday night.
