The Tourist Development Tax Sports Incentive Committee has reportedly requested a budget of $850,000 for the Greater Orlando Sports Commission. The funding is intended to support the commission’s bid to secure the premium live event, Royal Rumble 2024, to be held at Camping World Stadium on January 27, 2024. According to WESH 2, the bid was expected to be submitted on Tuesday, May 2.
WWE Royal Rumble 2024: Possible location Revealed
Orange County officials in Florida have projected an estimated attendance of 54,000 for the Royal Rumble 2024 premium live event, which they believe will generate an economic impact of approximately $28 million in the region. Therefore, they are eager for the bid to be successful. If it is not successful, the funds will be returned. In addition to the Royal Rumble, WWE may hold an NXT special in the city during that weekend, but no official confirmation has yet been made.
In an interview with the Orlando Business Journal, Jason Siegel, President and CEO of the Greater Orlando Sports Commission, expressed optimism that Orlando will be chosen as the host city for the Royal Rumble 2024 by WWE.
He said” “We have a long history of hosting major marquee WWE events in Orlando, and we are hopeful that our friends at WWE select Orlando to host Royal Rumble in 2024.”
According to the Greater Orlando Sports Commission, the Royal Rumble event and associated WWE events could generate 40,000 room nights. This could incentivize out-of-town attendees to extend their stays for multiple nights in Orlando.
