After what transpired in the match, Theory took to Twitter and blamed Dominic to ruin his iconic moment of facing Rey Mysterio in a WWE ring. He wrote, “Never thought I’d get the chance to face @reymysterio, too bad his son had to ruin such an iconic moment in my career!”

Austin Theory made a move back to the main roster during the WWE draft last month. After a brief stint on Monday Night Raw in early 2020, Austin moved back to WWE NXT and was aligned with Johnny Gargano’s faction ‘The Way.’

Theory returned to the main roster last month and had his first two matches on Monday Night Raw against Jeff Hardy, defeating the legend on both occasions. His next assignment came in against Dominik Mysterio two weeks back on Raw after the two men had a rift in a backstage segment. Austin returned victorious against Dominik as well, which set a clash against his father Rey this past week.
