WWE NXT Takeover 36-Samoa Joe defeated Karrion Kross: Samoa Joe and Karrion Kross- the rivalry that went to the limit and broke all the shackles had to be the main event of WWE NXT Takeover 36. As the bell rang, the two started with the classic wrestling lock to rile up things. Fans were chanting “Joe! Joe! Joe!” and “we want Scarlett” but she was nowhere to be seen.

Both men had their offense delivered correctly, and it was Joe who dropped Kross first with a big kick. He followed his attack with two big kicks and an elbow drop to add to Kross’ misery.

Joe then tried his sleeper hold submission, but Kross got into the rope to escape the wrath. Kross quickly seeks an opportunity to hit a Doomsday Saito and a heavy elbow on the back of Joe’s neck to send him out of the ring. Kross continued the assault on the outside by sending Joe into the barricade before rolling him back inside the ring.

He hit a Saito again for a quick near fall, and then Joe transitioned it into an ankle lock. The ankle lock was followed by a suicide forearm that knocked both men out for a while.
WWE NXT Takeover 36: Joe’s Coquina Clutch vs. Karrion’s Kross Jacket
Both men were not shying away from inflicting pain on each other. Joe was the first man to apply his submission, The Coquina Clutch. He rolled his arms on Karrion’s neck and face from behind, but Karrion somehow managed to get out of the hold.
Karrion countered with an armbar and finally transitioned into the Kross Jacket. It almost seemed like Joe passed out, but he gained enormous strength out of nowhere and pushed Kross into the corner to get away from the Kross Jacket.

In the closing moments, Kross sent Joe into the turnbuckle chest first and hit a massive forearm to the back of his head. He winds up for another, but Joe counters this time. Kross goes to the top turnbuckle, but Joe knocked him out with his famous Enzuguri. Joe then finally takes Kross up for a muscle buster and floor the champion with a massive muscle buster drop.

That was it as Samoa Joe pinned Kross to become a record 3-time NXT Champion.
