WWE NXT Highlights: Carmelo Hayes is the new NXT North American Champion
Tonight’s main event saw Hit Row’s Isaiah “Swerve” Scott defending his NXT North American Championship, the first time since winning it from Brosnon Reed, against Legado del Fantasma’s Santos Escobar.
Hit Row was moved to Friday Night Smackdown in the WWE Draft last week, so it was expected that Santos Escobar would defeat Swerve and win the NXT North American Title. However, that wasn’t the case. Swerve defeated Escobar to retain his title thanks to some assistance from Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams.
