WWE NXT 2.0 Highlights: Roderick Strong becomes NXT Cruiserweight Champion
The night kicked off with a quintessential Cruiserweight Championship match that saw Kushida defending his title against Diamond Mine’s Roderick Strong. The match was announced last week when Kushida returned after a brief COVID-19 hiatus and challenged Roderick Strong.
Kushida was the first one to inflict pain in the match as he locked a submission on his opponent, which Strong barely escaped by hitting the ropes. The action was robust as both men were beating the hell out of each other. In the closing moments of the match, the numbers game got better of Kushida. The Diamond Mine members attacked Kushida, and Ivy Nile landed a massive punch on the champion, while Malcolm Bivens distracted the referee.
Kushida was tossed back into the ring after going through a group assault, and it only took one End of Heartache from Roderick Strong to pin and take possession of the Cruiserweight title.
WWE NXT 2.0 Highlights: Kay Lee Rae impressed in her second outing
After successfully beating former NXT Women’s Champion Ember Moon two weeks back, Kay Lee Raw continued her impressive run on NXT 2.0 by defeating Amari Miller tonight.
It was a back & forth match that saw strikes exchanged between the two women. In the closing moments, Miller went for a roundhouse kick, but Kay Lee Ray countered it with a KLR Bomb. That was all Kay Lee Raw needed to pin her opponent and secure her second win on WWE NXT.
WWE NXT 2.0 Highlights: Bron Breakker teamed up with Tommaso Ciampa to defeat Ridge Holland & Pete Dunne
Bron Breakker ended last week’s NXT 2.0 by confronting the newly crowned NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa. Everyone thought that the newbie has his sights set on Tommaso’s title, but what happened tonight was something out of the blues.
Bron Breakker teamed up with the NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa and defeated the team of Ridge Holland & Pete Dunne in the main event of the night. After the loss, Dunne looked pale & frustrated at the same time, and it is expected that he would be the next in line to challenge Tommaso Ciampa.
