Speaking on the latest episode of Foley is Pod, the 57-year-old opined that he played a big role in how main event superstars are perceived. He also went on to state that he opened the door for superstars like Bray Wyatt and Kevin Owens who boast of a similar physique to the Hardcore legend.
“Probably expanding people’s ideas of what a big star could look like. That was probably the biggest. I think I expanded — opened the door for guys to follow, like Kevin Owens, like Bray Wyatt, who might not have gotten a look as a star. I’d like to think my lasting contribution is that I think I treated people well when I was on top, and that goes back to remembering how I was treated in Memphis.” (via RSN)

WWE News: Mick Foley says his wife was not allowed backstage at shows
On the latest episode of his podcast, Mick Foley also talked about some of the traditions followed during the Attitude Era which might look outdated to many. Recalling one such tradition, he highlighted an incident when his wife had to celebrate Foley’s birthday alone.
“There’s an edict ‘no wives backstage.’ So my wife is celebrating her birthday. We take a trip together to New York to celebrate. She’s by herself. She’s going to be going to the show by herself. The edict comes down, ‘no wives.’ I was told that was the rule. So now my wife’s on her own, all day.” (H/T 411Mania)
