WWE News: What did Nick Khan Say?

During the quarter 4 earnings call, the CEO of WWE, Nick khan stated that WWE is taking a deep dive into monetizing ring assets such as ring mats, ring aprons which were never used before to earn money. Nick Khan said:

Yes, to your question about monetizing the ring assets. It’s something we’re taking a deep dive into now and that we want to do.”

He then added that it all began with Stephanie McMahon and the changing culture of WWE sales. The changing of ‘may be’ to a ‘yes’. He stated that when they were offered by Mountain Dew and Pepsi the idea of sponsoring a match, they immediately loved the idea and agreed to it. Then they had a conversation with Triple H, who is the head of creative at WWE. Triple H agreed to the proposal too and along with the creative team made all the arrangements to make it happen.

He further stated: I think that’s what’s driving it, in addition of going into higher levels for each of these potential companies. (H/T – Ringside News)

As mentioned, in the 2023 Royal Rumble event sponsorship was noted. The ‘Mountain Dew Pitch Black Match’ and Applebee’s ‘Countdown Clock’.

There are many assets of WWE that several sponsors would be interested in. WWE is preparing itself for a potential sale and in order to set the company stands high WWE is acquiring new measures with each passing day. Thus, soon enough the ring will be covered with sponsorship logos. Also, if the sale of the company becomes successful, the new owner might take things to different levels.
