WWE News: Backstage Details on WWE’s Decision to bring Brock Lesnar back for SummerSlam

Earlier, WWE pitched the Viper Randy Orton to face Roman Reigns at SummerSlam. However, due to Randy Orton’s recent injuries, WWE scrapped plans for the Randy Orton vs Riddle. Recently, Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio detailed WWE’s decision to bring back Brock Lesnar for SummerSlam.

He noted that recent injuries to Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes left no choice for WWE to bring back the Beast. He further said, ”Reigns and Lesnar are the only two people truly pushed and protected at PPV level with the exception of the injured Rhodes, and it’s by far the biggest match they can do in the SummerSlam title match.” [H/T Sportskeeda]
