WWE News: The Rock on Black Adam: Former world champion The Rock has commented on how playing a heel character in WWE helped him with his latest movie, Black Adam. He transitioned into a Hollywood movie star after enjoying a highly decorated career in the wrestling industry.

Speaking to the New York Times, the former world champion detailed that playing a heel in WWE helped him do justice to the role of Black Adam.
“I embraced all the characteristics that would deem him a supervillain — his violence and his brutality and his philosophy on justice. Hardcore justice. He’s very economic with his words but also with his powers. It’s not a killing spree. It’s those who, well, have it coming to them. But I never looked at it as a risk. It’s one thing if he’s violent and he’s brutal and he’s full of rage. But when we take our time to tell his origin story and show why he became that way, it’s not a risk.” (via – ITR)
It is to be noted that Black Adam is scheduled for a worldwide release on October 21, 2022.

WWE News: The Rock believes that he was the greatest heel during the Attitude Era
The Attitude Era in WWE saw the rise of some exceptional talents who have now attained the status of legends. Among them was The Rock, whose rivalry with Stone Cold Steve Austin is still regarded as the promotion’s top storyline by many.
As far as heels during the early 2000s are concerned, The Brahma Bull had serious competition from the likes of Triple H, Edge, and Chris Jericho. However, speaking in the same interview, the Rock claimed that there was no one better than him at the time.
“It really did, yeah. Even in the wild, unpredictable world of professional wrestling, there was a great benefit in playing a heel. I became, at that time, the best and greatest heel the company had going.” (via – ITR)
