During the show, the topic of a life-changing incident in Deville’s life came up. In August of 2020, a man was caught breaking into Sonya Deville’s house. “It’s been a crazy ride and you never know something like that is gonna happen until it happens,” Sonya Deville said. “And you don’t know how you’re gonna feel about something like that happening until it happens. I’ll just say, the day of, I was like, ‘Oh, everything’s fine. I’m gonna go sleep in my house tonight.’ And then by the time nightfall came I was – like, couldn’t even drive to the neighborhood. So, it’s crazy.”

WWE News: Sonya Deville Reveals Trauma Post Stalking Incident- The stalker arrested was Phillip A. Thomas and was charged with with aggravated stalking, armed burglary of a dwelling, attempted armed kidnapping, and criminal mischief. He also had a chance of getting a life in prison sentence but got saved.

Post this difficult time, Sonya Deville took time off from the WWE. She returned to the WWE many months later in January 2021. However, she returned to the WWE as a official instead of an in-ring competitor.
Deville has now recently started competition in the ring. Prior to WrestleMania, she had a few matches against Women’s Tag Team Champion Naomi. Currently, she is in a feud with with Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair. The currently seems a short one but could get longer as Bianca Belair doesn’t have a new challenger unless Rhea Ripley enters the picture.
