WWE News: Potential Reason for WWE’s Move to Pull Off Roman Reigns vs Riddle from Money in the Bank
WWE disappointed many WWE fans with the decision to remove Roman Reigns from the Money in the Bank Premium Live Event. Many fans speculate WWE may lose a lot of money by removing Reigns from MITB, but this is not the case. WWE has a different approach towards featuring Roman Reigns on SmackDown instead of MITB.
WWE fans were expecting to watch Roman Reigns vs Riddle at MITB, but unfortunately, this match will be held this week on Friday Night SmackDown. Recently, Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio gave a note on WWE’s plans to remove Reigns vs Riddle from MITB.
He noted, “The bigger issue is they want to make money and they’ve already made their money off Peacock. So, putting Roman Reigns on Money in the Bank means absolutely zero to WWE. They don’t make one dime if more people watch it because Roman Reigns is on there. But, if they do big SmackDown ratings as a result of Roman Reigns defending the title on the show, well, then it comes time to renew your television deal and you make even more money.” [H/T Ringside News]
