Although Drew McIntyre showed up on last week’s SmackDown tapings, he wasn’t healthy enough to compete. However, as soon as Drew McIntyre finished his segment, he was let go home by the company for recovery.
As per the latest report from PWInsider, the Scottish Warrior is ready to show up on this week’s Friday Night SmackDown. The report said, “For those who have asked about Drew McIntyre, WWE sources have confirmed he is figured into creative plans for this week’s SmackDown and is expected to return to the road for live events this coming weekend after a bad case of food poisoning last week.” [H/T PWInsider]
Once again, WWE fans will see the former WWE Champion back in action in WWE live events. Last week, Braun Strowman replaced Drew McIntyre to feature alongside The New Day against The Bloodline.
WWE News: Drew McIntyre covered a botched segment against Karrion Kross on WWE SmackDown
Last week, Drew McIntyre announced a strap match against Karrion Kross at Extreme Rules Premium Live Event. He challenged the former NXT Champion in front of WWE fans when Kross interrupted him with a sneak attack. However, the former WWE Champion avide the attack and tied the strap to Kross with a vicious attack.
However, Scarlett Bordeaux jumped in to save her partner. While doing so, she tried to fire up the segment with a fireball attack. Unfortunately, the fireball didn’t light up properly, causing Drew McIntyre to end the segment being caught in a Doom’s Day submission. As per the reports, the segment was to end with Drew McIntyre getting hit by the fireball, but it failed.
