Cody Rhodes had battled many superstars during his previous run in WWE. Although he wasn’t pushed as a top guy in the company, he put on some exciting matches to watch out for winning the Intercontinental Championship, too. He was unable to battle some of the biggest stars with full potential during his previous reign. But, Rhodes recently mentioned his desire to battle the former WWE Champion Triple H.
During Cody Rhodes’ recent appearance on Ryan Satin’s Out of Character podcast, Cody Rhodes highlighted his moment with Triple H backstage before his WrestleMania 38 return. Eventually, he mentioned how Triple H and he had interaction, which fueled him, but at the same time gave a touching moment to remember.

“You have your Stings, your Shawn Michaels, your Triple H and then I did model a great portion of what I was doing after how he had modeled a lot of The Game brand. But also too, I was very very angry and that anger remains as far as how we saw each other and how he saw me and what I wanted to do. Cody Rhodes also mentioned that he has a ton of respect for Triple H and he won’t intentionally challenge someone to come out of retirement and have a match with him. Earlier, Triple H announced his in-ring retirement because of heart issues. Also, WWE officially announced the retirement of ‘The Game’ which likely tells us the end of an era. It seems Cody Rhodes’ wish to fight the WWE veteran would be left unfulfilled.
