WWE Elimination Chamber 2023: Austin Theory defends United States Championship inside Elimination Chamber this Sunday, Check out the five challengers, Follow Live UpdatesThe story so far: With Roman Reigns holding both world titles, making this match all about the United States Championship was a logical move. Austin Theory has taken his game up a notch during his current reign, combining the best parts of a powerful, vicious heel with the insecure, scheming variety. WWE is really in the driver’s seat here, as it can either keep the belt on Theory to make him appear even stronger, or have him lose without being pinned and play up his vengeful side headed to WrestleMania. Of the challengers, Seth Rollins brings the championship pedigree and the most personal beef with Theory, while the others are all men who would benefit from holding a non-world championship title — exactly the kind who should be in a match like this.

What should happen: Rollins doesn’t need this title, and if WWE wants to set up something more concrete between him and Logan Paul, the social media personality should interfere here — no problem since there are no DQs in the Chamber. Montez Ford, would be a fun choice for a winner if Theory is going to lose without losing, but we figure that’s probably not in the cards.
