WWE Draft 2023: Three best and Worst things of 2023 WWE Draft Night 1
WWE Draft 2023: Three best and Worst things that happened on the 2023 WWE Draft Night 1 during Friday Night SmackDownWWE Draft 2023:Three Best Moments
1- The O.C Drafted to Smackdown
AJ Styles has returned to WWE and has been drafted to the SmackDown brand along with his faction The O.C. They made their on-screen return by attacking The Viking Raiders and sending a message to the rest of the SmackDown locker room.
2- Street Profits Grabs the W
In a match featuring Braun Strowman, Wilde, Ford, Ricochet, Dawkins, and Del Toro, chaos ensues as everyone gets in their own moves and attacks. Strowman throws Wilde and Ford to the floor, then repeats the favor with his partners. Ricochet tries to resist being thrown by Strowman, but eventually ends up in the crush. Back from commercial, Ricochet teams up with Del Toro and takes on Dawkins with body blows. Wilde dives on both Street Profits, but they eventually come out on top with a frog splash from Montez Ford on Ricochet for the win.
3- Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn Confront The Usos
The Corpus Christi Texas crowd was lively compared to past shows. Jimmy Uso predicted Kevin Owens would turn on Sami Zayn, a common WWE storyline for Owens. The Usos were not drafted with the Bloodline, hinting at a split between SmackDown and Raw and a potential reunion between Jey Uso and Sami Zayn.

1-Zelina Vega def. Sonya Deville
Round 3 had Teddy Long representing Raw and JBL representing SmackDown as special guests. During a segment building up Zelina Vega as an underdog against Rhea Ripley at WWE Backlash, Michael Cole made a confusing statement about the likelihood of Vega winning. Vega ended up winning, potentially marking the first LWO victory since the group reunited.
2- Bianca Belair Drafted to Smackdown
Bianca Belair, the RAW Women’s Champion, was drafted to SmackDown in the WWE Draft 2023. Though not confirmed, Belair hinted at wanting to become the SmackDown Women’s Champion. Rhea Ripley is expected to move to RAW, and there are concerns that a title swap between the two champions would be a lazy solution. It’s also unlikely that IYO SKY would be the one to dethrone Belair and bring the title to SmackDown now that Damage CTRL has moved to the blue brand.
3-Three champions from NXT were stripped of their titles.
During the WWE Draft 2023, three champions from NXT were stripped of their titles, with Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn moving to SmackDown and Indi Hartwell being drafted to RAW. While it’s unclear if Triple H was behind the decision, it’s seen as controversial and a bad move for NXT during a time when the brand is struggling.
