WWE Day 1: What other matches could be added to the WWE Day 1 PPV event?- The State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia, is all set to host the first WWE PPV of 2022 on the very first day of the year, i.e., Saturday, January 1.

The PPV event is a month away from today, and the WWE Championship match has been announced so far. WWE Champion Big E would be defending his title in a triple-threat scenario against Kevin Owens and Seth Rollins. With only a solitary match getting the nod so far, here we have listed some bouts that could take place on the very first PPV of 2022. Take a look,

WWE Day 1: Smackdown Women’s Championship- Charlotte Flair vs. Toni Storm

Charlotte Flair claims that she doesn’t even know if Toni Storm exists on Smackdown, but after what transpired between the two ladies last week on the Blue brand, Toni Storm has certainly broken into Charlotte’s head.

Charlotte and Toni Storm have been involved in numerous in-ring segments over the past few weeks

Toni Storm vs. Charlotte Flair could well be in the making, and we have almost a month left for the two ladies to spice up their feud and set a penultimate clash on the very first day of 2022.

WWE Day 1: United States Championship- Damian Priest vs. Apollo Crews

Another match in the making could be Damian Priest defending his United States Championship against Apollo Crews. Although Priest defeated Crews this past week on Monday Night Raw, it seems like the two men have some unfinished business which might probably end up at WWE Day 1 PPV event.

WWE Day 1: Edge vs. The Miz

Edge has returned, so has The Miz. Edge and Miz returned this past week on Monday Night Raw, and it seems like they will be feuding with each other, especially after a lit promo we witnessed from the two former World Champions last week.

Edge and The Miz pulled off an epic promo last week on Raw

Edge and Miz have crossed paths in the past and would be raring to go one more time to give the crowd a classic showpiece at the Day 1 PPV event. As of now, this match seemingly looks on.

WWE Day 1: Universal Championship- Roman Reigns vs. Sami Zayn

Yes, you read it right. Roman Reigns could defend the Universal Championship title against Sami Zayn at the WWE Day 1 PPV event. Zayn won the 20-man over-the-top-rope Battle Royal this past week on Smackdown to become the number one contender for the Universal Championship.

Sami Zayn vs. Roman Reigns could take place at WWE Day 1

With Brock Lesnar lurking and keeping a close eye on Roman Reigns’ moves, Sami getting a title shot was unforeseen, but we are here now, and Sami Zayn is the next challenger for Roman Reigns. Reigns will most probably defeat Zayn and head into the Royal Rumble PPV as the Universal Champion and face either Brock Lesnar or Drew McIntyre.

WWE Day 1: Smackdown Tag-Team Championship- The Usos vs. The New Day

The Usos let down The Bloodline at the Survivor Series PPV. They now need to get over that debacle and move forward. The New Day (King Woods and Sir Kofi Kingston) could be the ones to challenge them next for the tag-team titles.

Insidesport
The Usos vs. The New Day could happen at WWE Day 1

King Woods was actively taking on The Bloodline on his own as Roman Reigns & The Usos injured Sir Kofi Kingston in one of the episodes of Smackdown prior to Survivor Series. Kofi is back again as he is competing in several Live events and dark matches on Raw & Smackdown. Kofi and Woods have been locking horns with The Bloodline in the live and dark matches, which means they could well be challenging The Usos at WWE Day 1 PPV.
