Wrestlers Protest: All of the equipment that the wrestlers had brought to Jantar Mantar over the previous few weeks was packed up and taken away in tempos and trucks as the Delhi Police on Sunday as they removed all evidence of their more than month-long uproar. This included tents, beds, mats, coolers, speakers, and coolers.
Earlier, as they attempted to march to the new Parliament building, outside of which a women’s mahapanchayat was scheduled, police detained wrestlers Vinesh Phogat, Sakshi Malik, and Bajrang Punia.
While the police said that the uproar had now subsided, the wrestlers declared that they would continue their protest against BJP MP and Wrestling Federation of India President Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh over claims of sexual harassment.
Dependra Pathak, Special Commissioner of Police (Law and Order), said, “What the wrestlers did was highly irresponsible. We will not allow them to protest now. We had asked them not to move out (from the protest site) but they didn’t listen. More than 8-9 police personnel were left injured. They broke the law and indulged in anti-national activities. We have cleared the area…”

Over 500 female police officers and 1,400 male officers reportedly received requests to report to DCP (New Delhi) Pranav Tayal during the day. 700 wrestlers in all were held at several police stations. Some female wrestlers were released at 7 o’clock, but at the time of publication, others remained at police stations.
Later in the evening, Malik vowed protest is not over. “After we are released from police custody, we will again start our satyagraha back at Jantar Mantar. Now, there will be satyagraha of women wrestlers… not dictatorship,” read her tweet.
According to Indian Express, protesters were held in various police stations, including Kalkaji, Mayur Vihar, Malviya Nagar, Burari, and Najafgarh, in order to prevent them from assembling in the New Delhi region after being freed.
