What Happened During the WWE Intercontinental Championship Match?

The match began with both men viciously attacking each other. McIntyre nailed a Glasgow Kiss headbutt, while Gunther delivered a double underhook Suplex.

The match continued and McIntyre nailed a neckbreaker. He then went for the Claymore but Gunther nailed a dropkick instead. Gunther then came with a powerbomb. McIntyre recovered and nailed a Claymore kick.

Finally, Gunther once again nailed the Powerbomb for the win. Thus, Gunther defeated Drew McIntyre to retain the WWE Intercontinental Championship.

Insidesport

However, this was not the first time McIntyre lost to Gunther. Previously, at WrestleMania 39, Gunther successfully defended the WWE Intercontinental Championship against Drew McIntyre and Sheamus in a Triple Threat Match with McIntyre taking the pin. This might be the reason, McIntyre seemed unhappy after his latest loss against Gunther at the recent pay-per-view event and immediately left the arena following his match.
