Recently, the WWE board took Mr. McMahon under investigation regarding an alleged affair with an ex-employee. A detailed report from Wall Street Journal reported Vince McMahon did a $3 million settlement to a former female employee to close the alleged affair. In addition, it is reported that the WWE head of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis is also involved in this matter.
As per the recent reports, Vince McMahon announced stepping down from the position. WWE’s official page has released a detailed statement from Vince McMahon, who gave his words on the recent investigation imposed on him. Mr. McMahon mentioned he stepped down on a voluntary basis. However, he will still keep his role in relation to WWE’s creative department.
In the official press release, Mr. McMahon said, “I have pledged my complete cooperation to the investigation by the Special Committee, and I will do everything possible to support the investigation. I have also pledged to accept the findings and outcome of the investigation, whatever they are.”
Currently, there are no further updates from WWE’s board on the situation. However, they will continue the detailed investigation of Vince McMahon.

As Vince McMahon stepped down from the position of CEO, several doubts aroused about the vacant position of WWE CEO. However, with the recent press release, Vince McMahon’s daughter Stephanie McMahon will be re-positioned as the WWE CEO temporarily.
