India’s Veer Dev Gulia will play for the bronze medal at UWW U23 World Wrestling Championships in Budapest today. Gulia good run was halted in the semi-finals of the 79kg freestyle category late Monday night on the Day1. 22 year old Gulia tried his best but still, he was no match for the Abubakr Abakarov of Azerbaijan in his Semi-Finals bout. 2018 World Junior runners up Abakarov won the bout 8-1 against Gulia to book his place in finals.
Gulia will now vie for the bronze medal later today in the night @ 10.30 PM. Results of the repechage round will determine Gulia’s bronze medal opponent.

105 – Atai IZABEKOV (KGZ) vs. Radik VALIEV (RUS)
120 – Winner 105 vs. Gheorghi PASCALOV (MDA)
Bronze – Winner 120 vs. Veer Dev GULIA (IND)
