WWE Backstage atmosphere at the Royal Rumble PLE was healthy due to the absence of Vince McMahon

The 2023 Royal Rumble was the first PLE of the year kicked off under Triple H’s regime despite Vince McMahon’s return to office. Although many fans feared Mr. McMahon would appear at the Royal Rumble, he didn’t. Recent reports gave an update on WWE’s backstage atmosphere at the Royal Rumble PLE.

As per Fightful Select, WWE Backstage had a great atmosphere and everything ran smoothly. Also, WWE Talents were optimistic about the current regime running the PLE.

“Vince McMahon was not seen at the Royal Rumble, and his creative influence was not felt on the show. Those that we’ve heard back from have stated that from a day to day and weekly basis, the atmosphere is much more laid back. One of the only reminders of Vince’s influence remains the “Vince’s office” directional sign that hasn’t been changed since he left, but points to a section of the backstage area that is completely different. One source says it’s not like anyone is fearful of bringing up his name, but generally most haven’t really asked much since Triple H, Nick Khan and Kevin Dunn held meetings assuring the roster that McMahon wouldn’t be involved in creative or talent relations.”

Also, WWE Talent gave a note on the main event segment where everyone backstage quietly watched the monitors as the segment progressed.

The 2023 Royal Rumble was a great start for WWE with impressive records set at the PLE. What do you think of Vince McMahon not getting involved in the creative work anymore? Tell us in the comments.
