Cody Rhodes won the 2023 Royal Rumble. He entered from the 30th spot and held himself inside the ring for over 15 minutes, finally eliminating Gunther to win the Royal Rumble 2023. The American Nightmare recently took his Instagram handle to post an update. He shared the image of WWE Championship belt and this could indicate him challenging Roman Reigns for the WWE Title. Roman Reigns on the other hand faced Kevin Owens at the Royal Rumble 2023. However Reigns brutally defeated Owens and ended the match with a spear. Thus, retaining the WWE Undisputed Universal Championship.
What did Cody Rhodes say about Roman Reigns and WrestleMania?
After winning the Men’s Royal Rumble Match, Cody Rhodes gave a backstage interview where he talked about Roman Reigns and going to WrestleMania. The interviewer asked him “Cody, you’ve been out the last several months, but what a way to make a comeback winning Royal Rumble and I’m sure your eyes are locked on WrestleMania. How are you feeling right now?”
Cody stated he wasn’t ready to hear this yet, but continues “Sorry I’m very emotional. I don’t have a frame of reference, I’ve never punched a ticket to WrestleMania.”
“..and to be able to punch a ticket to the thing.. I don’t have any words other than I got to finish it.”
