Roman Reigns vs Rey Mysterio
The Arena CDMX has recently announced that on July 22, 2023, Roman Reigns will defend the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against Rey Mysterio. Thus, prior to his rumored showdown against Jey Uso at SummerSlam 2023, Reigns will engage himself in a huge title bout. Also, the match between Reigns and Mysterio will take place in Mexico, so the fans will be in Mysterio’s support.
However, it is to be noted that this will not be the first time Roman Reigns and Rey Mysterio will square off against each other. Last month, the duo faced each other in Cincinnati at a live event. Rey Mysterio had put up a great match against Reigns but Dominik Mysterio interfered in the match, which led to the defeat of Mysterio.
Also, previously Reigns and Mysterio faced each other in a Hell in a Cell match where Reigns defeated Rey Mysterio. However, it is to be seen what happens when Reigns and Mysterio clash once again in Mexico.
What’s Next For Reigns?
Roman Reigns was not present on the latest episode of Friday Night SmackDown. However, bloodline member, Paul Heyman mentioned that Reigns will return on WWE SmackDown next week to confront Jey Uso. Also, Reigns will be discussing the rules of engagement.
It seems that the match between Reigns and Jey Uso at SummerSlam 2023 will be announced next week. However, we will also have to see what the outcome of Roman Reigns’ match against Rey Mysterio will be.
