Rey Mysterio Reveals How He Carried Out High-Flying Moves
On the ‘Impaulsive’ podcast, Rey Mysterio gave an insight into the inside of his wrestling training and how he carried out high-flying moves.
Rey Mysterio mentioned that he has been very creative with his moves and that has made him stand out. He also stated that he never rehearsed his moves.
He said “One thing that I’ve always believed that has made me stand out is I’ve always been very creative with my moves and especially in the time that I broke in nobody was doing things like I was doing, so I would kind of visualize it and if it was possible never rehearse it… if you’re gonna get hurt you don’t want to get hurt practicing it, get hurt doing it”
He also mentioned how his knees have 13-14 surgeries and how he would snap his ligament every other year.
He then mentioned “Believe it or not during that time when I’ve had my surgeries the grind was just so heavy we’d come home for one day, we come on on a Wednesday per se uh rest Thursday and then Friday back out. So there was really no time to rest, so when you got hurt you would take that like oh I got some time off now”
Thus, not rehearsing his moves and getting hurt from it actually kind of worked for Rey Mysterio because he got to take a rest following it.
