NXT New Year’s Evil Highlights- Mandy Rose retains the NXT Women’s title

Mandy Rose has done the unthinkable. The reigning NXT Women’s Champion successfully defended her title in a triple-threat scare against Cora Jade and former champion Raquel Gonzales.

Rose pinned Jade out of nowhere to retain her title in a brutal match between the three ladies. In the closing moments of the bout, Gonzales took Jade to the top turnbuckle for a superplex but Jade slid down and shoved Gonzales to the floor. With Rose and Jade now alone in the ring, Jade went for a roll-up pin, but Roose blocks it by dropping down onto Jade and pinning her to retain her title.

The Pup is now the new Dog. Bron Breakker has defeated Tommaso Ciampa to become the new NXT Champion. Bron Breakker vs. Tommaso Ciampa for the title took place during the main event of tonight’s WWE New Year’s Evil.

It was a tiring back & forth battle between the two stalwarts, and the veteran was overwhelmingly thumped by the newbie. Breakker survived a massive scare when he kicked out of the Fairy Tale Ending and then won by applying the Steiner Recliner effectively on the veteran wrestler.
