Why was Gunther not booked for the WWE Heavyweight Championship Tournament?

The 12 names of participants of the WWE World Heavyweight Championship Tournament include Seth Rollins, Shinsuke Nakamura, Sheamus, The Miz, Damian Priest, Edge, Rey Mysterio, Finn Balor, Bobby Lashley, AJ Styles, Austin Theory, and Cody Rhodes.

Besides others, Austin Theory who is the United States Champion is a participant in the World Heavyweight championship tournament. Thus, the WWE Universe was wondering why the Intercontinental Champion wasn’t booked for the tournament.

However, there is a special reason for it. Intercontinental champion Gunther is currently busy and is enjoying his honeymoon with his wife, Jinny Sandhu. Jinny is a former WWE NXT UK Wrestler.

Owing to this reason Gunther was absent from this week’s Monday Night Raw episode, where the Raw’s side of the World Heavyweight Championship took place. However, the Intercontinental Champion is all set to return to Monday Night Raw next week.
