At tonight's AEW WrestleDream event, fans witnessed the highly anticipated debut of WWE legend Edge, confirming speculations that had been circulating for quite some time.

AEW WrestleDream lived up to its name, making dreams come true for countless AEW fans by confirming and delivering the debut of none other than the R Rated Superstar Adam Copeland, known as Edge in the WWE realm. Speculations had been buzzing for the past week or two about the WWE superstar possibly crossing over to AEW, especially after his contract expired just a day prior. It didn’t take long for those speculations to turn into reality, as he swiftly made his debut on AEW’s TV screen.

Edge made his spectacular debut on AEW WrestleDream 

WWE underwent a wave of releases last week, and Edge’s contract expiration marked another departure. Speculations were rife that he might join AEW, undoubtedly one of the most prominent promotions. AEW has become the go-to destination for many wrestlers recently released by WWE, including Jon Moxley and several other major superstars, finding a new home under Tony Khan’s banner.

Welcoming him in the company, on X (formerly known twitter) Khan wrote, “Welcome to the @AEW team! Rated R Superstar Adam Copeland @EdgeRatedR is ALL ELITE!” It’s becoming a trend that whenever WWE releases its athletes or their contracts expire, AEW quickly seizes the opportunity to sign them.
