Drew McIntyre recently appeared on WWE’s The Bump. The Scottish Warrior during the conversation talked about his future in the company and also reflected on his long absence from WrestleMania 39 to WWE Money in the Bank 2023.
McIntyre said “I just want to apologize to everybody — that I missed my dates, I missed the towns. You know it’s not like me unless there’s a reason. Obviously, the rumor and innuendo is out there. What’s going on with Drew McIntyre? What’s going on with the future? The future doesn’t matter. What matters is the present, and presently Drew McIntyre is back. And if you’re heading to a WWE show, and Drew McIntyre’s there you know you’re gonna get 110%. And finally, finally, finally I’m chasing that big moment with a title in front of live fans. So let’s make that happen finally.“
What Happened at WWE Money in the Bank 2023?
At the recent Pay-per-view event, the 2023 WWE Money in the Bank, Gunther successfully defended the Intercontinental Championship against Matt Riddle.
Following the match, while Gunther was celebrating his win inside the ring, Drew McIntyre’s theme played. The Scottish Warrior then walked out and had a staredown with Gunther inside the ring.
After a few moments, McIntyre nailed a Glasgow Kiss and a Claymore kick to Gunther, taking the champ down. Meanwhile, McIntyre picked up the IC title and held it high, standing tall inside the ring.
It is to be seen how the feud between Gunther and McIntyre continues from here on.
