Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court on Thursday granted bail to former WFI chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh and Vinod Tomar in the alleged sexual harassment case. The court has also listed the matter for further hearing on July 28.

The court has imposed the conditions that they will not leave the country without prior permission of the court. The court also added that they will not influence witness and will not tamper with the evidence.
Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (ACMM) Harjeet Singh Jaspal of the Rouse Avenue Courts passed the order.
“We have imposed certain conditions. The accused shall directly or indirectly not induce the complainants or witnesses he shall not leave the country without permission of the court. Please ensure that all the conditions are scrupulously followed,“ the Court said.
Sports Minister underlines important measures for compliance on sexual allegation
Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur has listed out several proactive steps to ensure the safety and well-being of female athletes. He listed out four important safety measures that will be put in place soon. It is listed as below.
- Women coach to be a mandatory part of any contingent with female athletes during domestic/international camps.
- Compliance Officer to be appointed in all National Coaching Camps & Foreign Exposures. They will be communicating regularly with athletes and others to ensure that the guidelines are being followed. This is as per the SOP on the prevention of sexual harassment in sports.
- Pre-camp sensitization modules to be designed and presented to all athletes, coaches and support staff together before commencement of any National Coaching Camp and Foreign Exposure.
- Increasing the strength of women Coaches/Support Staff in National Coaching Camps by respective NSFs.
