The blue verification badge that was allotted on Twitter previously after checking a person’s background, can now be allotted to anyone who is willing to spend $8 for it.
Elon Musk launched the Blue Subscription Plan which will now provide the blue tick without any background checks or verifications. This is raising concerns over scammers who might impersonate popular celebrities and create a ruckus on Twitter.
Since WWE Superstars are losing their blue verification badge too, scammers would misuse their names and the blue tick to deceive others.
This has raised concern among the WWE Superstars, with Alexa Bliss stating “#DumbestThingEver”.
