WWE Smackdown Results and Highlights of the night

The Bloodline Championship Celebrations- Time for family Championship celebration for Roman Reigns and The Usos.

Paul Heyman started off on the mic by saying the WWE Universe to acknowledge not only the Tribal Chief Roman Reigns but also the undisputed Smackdown Tag Team Champions The Usos. As Paul Heyman was speaking about how good Roman Reigns has been, an interruption came from Finn Balor.

Balor said that he got screwed before by Cena for his Universal Championship match and now he wants his match. He first said that Extreme Rules was where he was looking forward to his match against Roman, but now he wants it next week.

Before Roman could have answered his challenge, Balor bashed out on Roman Reigns and attacked him in ambush. The Usos attacked Balor from behind and it turned into a three-on-one assault. Apparently, The Street Profits came out to save Balor. They attacked the Usos meanwhile Roman Reigns just left the ring. The segment ended with Finn Balor hitting a Coup de Grace on one of the Usos.

Sami Zayn vs. Dominik Mysterio- A classing wrestling lock up to start off the match that turned into some fierce strikes from Sami on the corner post. Dominik, however, retaliated with some offense of his own to get back into the match.

Dominik got an exciting maneuver using the middle and top ropes back & forth and dragged Sami on the other side of the ring with an arm drag. Dominik then set Sami for a 619, but couldn’t connect as he slid through the middle rope and had a nasty landing. Seeing his ugly landing, Rey Mysterio walked out in concern to the ringside.

The match continued after the commercial with Sami Zayn under control with the thick of things. A desperate Dominik couldn’t get anything else but a vicious repetitive elbows.

In the closing moments, Dominik did hit Sami with a 619, but just when he got to the top turnbuckle for a splash, Sami moved out of harm’s way. This made Dominik to go towards Sami who hit him with a suplex near the corner post and finally Sami ended up with a Helluva Kick.

Backstage- Naomi has arrived on the Blue brand. She asked Sonya Deville for his first match on return, but Sonya said that she or anyone didn’t know if Naomi would be on Smackdown and that is why she didn’t book her for a match. Maybe next week.

Shinsuke Nakamura & Rick Boogs vs. Robert Roode & Dolph Ziggler- Rick Boogs and Dolph Ziggler started off the proceedings. Boogs played guitar assuming Ziggler as a guitar. Both men had a back & forth offense until both tagged in their partners.

King Nakamura proved too good for Roode as his offense looked unstoppable. He charged himself for a Kinshasa, but Roode prevailed and turned into a quick roll-up pin which the King survived. Shinsuke then went outside the ring where Ziggler hit him a ZigZag behind the referee’s back.

After the commercial, Shinsuke was inside the ring, but feeling the after attacks of the ZigZag. He prevailed on some attacks of both Roode and Ziggler before tagging in Boogs. Rick Boogs took control with some perfect body slams and suplex

Ziggler however hit him with a Superkick thanks to a distraction from Roode, but it wasn’t enough to stop his momentum. Shinsuke intervened and took care of Roode outside the ring, meanwhile, Rick Boogs hit his finisher to Dolph Ziggler to secure a win.

Backstage- Roman Reigns was a bit surprised to see Paul Heyman outside his locker room. He invited Paul inside along with him.

Backstage- Seth Rollins also talked about his match at Summerslam saying that some people said that was the Match of the Night and whatever the two men did in the ring was way too good. Seth further added that after Summerslam he respects Edge and if he wants to get a Universal Championship match, he needs to be like Edge.

Backstage- Edge said that he is done with Seth Rollins and it is time for him to move on and capture the Universal Championship which eluded him in the first place due to Rollins.

Baron Corbin arrives- Baron Corbin arrives at the ring with new theme music and the announcer addressed him “Happy Corbin.” Corbin addressed the WWE universe and said till Monday he had nothing, he was bankrupt, his wife left him, and today, he is back on track. He then showed a video on the Big Screen showing how his fortunes changed.

He then asked Big E to come out to the ring. Big E responded and walked out with the Money in the Bank contract. Baron Corbin asked Big E to sell his contract and offered him some good amount like $20,000 then $50,00 and finally $100,000. Big E denied all the offers and said a big no.

Big E took out a toy and asked Baron Corbin to purchase it for $100,000. This didn’t amuse Corbin, but he still had a big smile on his face. The two men exchanged words and finally Big E asked him to leave the ring otherwise he would have spoiled his happy face.

Outside- Kayla Braxton was waiting for the arrival of Roman Reigns in the parking area as she wanted to have his views on Brock’s return at Summerslam. Instead of Roman, a “Happy” Baron Corbin arrived on his brand new car. He did have great luck in Las Vegas during the Summerslam weekend and now Baron Corbin is happy.

Chad Gable vs. Cesaro- Chad Gable was rocked with three uppercuts in a row by Cesaro. However, the 2012 USA Olympian Gable did get the work done with some offense of his own. After some back & forth blows, Gable hit a back moonsault from the top rope.

After a while, Cesaro got some opening when he sent Gable on the mat from the top rope. He then went for the famous Cesaro Swing but got interrupted by Otis who assaulted him to the fullest and eventually the bout got disqualified.

Backstage- Paul Heyman is asked where does he stands after the return of the Beast Incarnate Brock Lesnar. He replied that he stands with the Tribal Chief Roman Reigns. He then tried to enter in Roman Reigns’ locker room, but the room was locked.

After a while, The Usos opened the lock and came out. They asked Paul Heyman that if he knew Brock was set to arrive at Summerslam. Heyman said he wasn’t knowing anything about Brock Lesnar’s arrival and he also added why would he tear apart everything he has put together with the tribal chief.

Jimmy then asked Heyman that why did he send them (The Usos) backstage right before Roman’s match with John Cena. To this, Heyman replied, it wasn’t him who send them back, but the Tribal Chief (Roman Reigns) was the one to send them back. This didn’t go well with The Usos and they went back into Roman Reigns’ locker room leaving Paul Heyman outside.

Bianca Belair vs. Liv Morgan vs. Carmella vs. Zelina Vega- This Fatal 4-Way elimination match was made official during the commercial. The braw between the four ladies turned into a fatal 4-way elimination match as the winner will face Becky Lynch for the Smackdown Women’s Championship.

The first elimination was done with a Kiss of Death by Bianca Belair on Zelina Vega. Vega was eliminated by Bianca, whereas Liv Morgan ensured Carmella was no longer in the match as she hit her with Oblivion for a three count.

The action continued between the last two ladies during the commercial when Carmella despite being eliminated, took her frustration on Morgan by smashing her into the steel stairs. After a while, both Morgan and Bianca were in the ring and the EST had the upper hand.

Morgan hit a double leg stomp on the back of Bianca from the top rope and went for a pin, but Bianca survived. She went for the same move again but Bianca got out of harm’s way this time around. The two women were going back & forth and forced the fans in the arena to chant This is awesome.

In the closing moments, Bianca Belair hit Liv Morgan face-first on the top turnbuckle. It just rocked the latter and was good enough for Binaca to finish off with a Kiss of Death and secure a win. With this win, Bianca Belair has now earned the right to face Becky Lynch for the championship.

She said that she is has been here for a long time and knows how to take her opportunities. As she was talking, the EST of WWE, i.e., Bianca Belair came out.

Another interruption occurred in the form of Zelina Vega and then Carmella also interrupted. Both demanded a shot at Becky Lynch.
