WWE Smackdown- Roman Reigns achievement: WWE Smackdown Superstar and current Universal Champion Roman Reigns has achieved an impressive milestone. After going on a few months hiatus shortly after Wrestlemania 36, Roman Reigns returned at WWE Summerslam 2020 and soon captured the Universal Championship by defeating Braun Strowman and The Fiend Bray Wyatt in the following PPV event, i.e., WWE Fastlane.

Since then, he has held the title by hook or crook by defending against the likes of Jey Uso, Kevin Owens, Daniel Bryan, Edge, Cesaro, Rey Mysterio, and John Cena. Reigns won the title at Fastlane on August 30, and now he has completed one year as the Universal Champion.

WWE Smackdown: The Tribal Chief is the second-longest reigning Universal Champion
After completing a year as the reigning Universal Champion, Roman Reigns stands just behind Brock Lesnar’s tally of 504 days. The Head of the Table would be looking to romp past Lesnar’s tally and become the most successful Universal Champion of all time.
The feat is somewhat hard to achieve, however with the way Vince McMahon has been pushing Roman since 2015, it seems the Head of the table will surely eclipse Brock’s tally and become the longest ever reigning Universal Champion.
WWE Smackdown: What next for Roman Reigns?
A ‘Jobber’ John Cena fell prey to Roman Reigns at WWE Summerslam quite easily. After the match got over, Brock Lesnar showed up, and everyone assumed that the Beast Incarnate would be the next in line to challenge the Head of the Table.
However, this isn’t going to be the case. Finn Balor is next in line to get his shot at the Universal Championship and will be facing Roman Reigns next week on WWE Smackdown with the championship on the line. Is Finn Balor the next victim of the Head of the Table? For sure, to build Roman vs. Brock Lesnar at either Crown Jewel or Survivor Series.
