Wagner hit a low blow to Kyle before launching him into the steel wall a few times and eventually driving him to the mat with a big slam for a pinfall win. A quality match didn’t have the ending the NXT Universe would have wanted, but Kyle losing this bout was somewhere expected considering his contract situation in WWE.

An emotional Johnny Gargano made his way to the ring with the crowd chanting ‘Johnny Wrestling!’ He took the mic, wiped a drop of tear from one of his eyes, and explained how much the promotion means to him. He thanked his fans, the crew members, family, and the bosses he’s worked under, and then finally discussed the change being a bit hard but necessary at times.

Gargano said that he will be doing some stuff here and there, but as of now, he wants to focus on the birth of his child, which is due in February. He acknowledged the responsibility of becoming a father and said that it will be the most important thing than anything he could be doing right now. As Gargano was speaking, Grayson Waller hit the scene and attacked him from behind with a chair shot.

It was a complete beatdown from Waller who ended the segment by power bombing Gargano on the announce table. Looks like WWE wants Johnny to take time off with an injury angle, but is that the case or is it something else? We may get clarity over this in the coming weeks.
