WWE SmackDown: Drew McIntyre hints at WWE return after injury: Check Out
On the recent episode of WWE’s The Bump, Drew McIntyre appeared on the show on its 200th episode with a pre-recorded video. While speaking on The Bump, he revealed his comeback. Although he didn’t specify a date or didn’t disclose his injury, he hinted to return to Friday Night SmackDown “soon”.
“I wish I could be there physically, sadly I can’t right now. I appreciate everybody checking in. You know, if Drew McIntyre’s not at work, there’s a reason. But I can tell you all I’ll be back very very soon. There’s a certain season on the horizon, WrestleMania season. And I’m not going to miss that,” said McIntyre.
It seems McIntyre’s injury is not much serious and he will be back on TV in no time. As noted, he mentioned the WrestleMania season which means he will be participating in the 2023 Royal Rumble.
Earlier this week, Drew McIntyre was supposed to compete in a tag team match against The Usos with his partner Sheamus. However, due to his injury, WWE replaced him with Butch ahead of the tag team championship match.

WWE SmackDown: Who will be Drew McIntyre feuding next?
After his victory against Karrion Kross at Extreme Rules, Drew McIntyre went on a feud with The Bloodline teaming up with Sheamus and the rest of the Brawling Brutes. However, after their defeat at Survivor Series WarGames, it is unclear if the Scottish Warrior will continue his alliance with Sheamus or continue his singles run.
There are some potential stars on the roster with whom Drew McIntyre could pick a fight. One of them is Braun Strowman who is not being used widely after his SmackDown WorldCup exit after facing a defeat. Both men share a lot of history during the pandemic period while McIntyre held the WWE Title.
