While learning new wrestling skills and moves, she slowly learned that professional wrestling and MMA differ greatly from each other. Ronda Rousey made her WrestleMania debut with Kurt Angle in a mixed tag match against Triple H and Stephanie McMahon. For the first time in her career, she competed in WWE with a completely unique fighting style that was new to her.
Slowly, Ronda developed new skills, and new submission moves to her bag. Since her return from pregnancy, we saw Ronda usually using the Ankle Lock frequently. In her recent YouTube Channel Vlog, she revealed her reason to use the Ankle Lock and why she uses it often.
Ronda said, “I just really want to be able to put over Kurt as the whole reason I’m doing the ankle lock and it’s a way to pay homage to him. That’s all I really care about getting out, because he was my first mentor in this business, and I’ve never really got to honor him outside of our tag.”
“People compare us all the time because we were athletes outside of WWE and then came to it. As an Olympian, he has been like my hero since I was a little kid, so I love that he gave me the blessing to use the ankle lock.” [H/T EssentiallySports]
Kurt Angle is a multiple-time WWE Champion and an Olympic Gold Medalist. It is quite clear that Ronda Rousey idealized Kurt Angle. Eventually, she often stated that he showed her the path in WWE and how to develop skills.

The Baddest Woman on The Planet is currently engaged in a feud with Charlotte Flair and soon she will face her at WrestleMania Backlash. Earlier, Ronda used the ankle lock on Charlotte Flair to which she tapped out in the ring during their brawl on SmackDown.
