WWE News: Former NXT Champion and perhaps one of the most decorated NXT Superstars of all time, Adam Cole’s WWE contract is close to terminate. As per the latest WWE news, Adam Cole signed a short-term extension to his contract that may come to an end until NXT Takeover 36, slated for Sunday, August 22.

As per Wrestlling Inc, Cole’s contract with the company was supposed to expire after NXT Great American Bash, but the former NXT Champion chose to briefly extend the window to give ample negotiation time to both parties or perhaps to wrap up his ongoing storylines. According to talkSPORT,

“Cole extended his deal in order to put over Kyle O’Reilly at TakeOver. It’s not common practice for there to be a non-compete with a contract’s expiry, but as part of the extension, Cole also managed to ‘kill the non-compete clause’ he would have had to fulfill.”

WWE News: Will Adam Cole end up on AEW once he is out of WWE?

Adam Cole is no stranger to AEW. He has friends there in the All Elite Wrestling, even her girlfriend and AEW Women’s Champion Dr. Britt Baker is an active superstar on the roster. After almost every ex-WWE Stars moved to AEW to find a new home, rumors have been making rounds that Cole might also end up being an All Elite.

The current scenario clearly indicates that Adam Cole will decide on his WWE career after NXT Takeover 36. As of now, it is not cent percent locked that Adam Cole will leave WWE once his contract expires. The company could hand him a new lucrative deal that could see him continue his association with the company. It remains interesting to see what proposal Triple H and Vince McMahon have in their sights for the former NXT Champion.
