Last year, Big E suffered a broken neck during a match with the Brawling Brutes when Ridge Holland delivered a suplex ringside which went horribly wrong. Eventually, Big E landed hard on his neck and was later admitted to a nearby hospital, followed by neck surgery.

He is also involved in the NIL program, which is a new recruitment program to hand-pick talented athletes. At SummerSlam 2022, he also was also present in the NIL program alongside Triple H, Shawn Michaels, and many more.
