Recently, Roman Reigns successfully defended his Undisputed Universal Title against Riddle on Friday Night SmackDown. However, Brock Lesnar emerged as the new challenger for a rematch to defeat Roman Reigns at the SummerSlam Premium Live Event at the end of July.
At WWE backstage, the Undisputed Title has a different overview. As per Fightful Select, WWE backstage recognizes Reigns’ title doesn’t recognize as the WWE Undisputed Universal Title, even if the titles are unified. The report notes WWE still recognizes both tiles separately and they might be brought back to their respective Raw and SmackDown brands.

However, the question remains who will dethrone the Head of the Table to become the new champion? Although WWE booked some potential superstars for Reigns’ next title defense, WWE changed plans recently because of Randy Orton’s injury, eventually bringing Brock Lesnar back for SummerSlam 2022.

WWE booked Roman Reigns for two Premium Live Events which are SummerSlam and WWE’s UK return with Clash at the Castle. Earlier, WWE pitched Randy Orton for SummerSlam, but due to a recent injury, WWE announced Brock Lesnar vs Roman Reigns for SummerSlam in a Last Man Standing Match.

In addition, the former WWE Champion Drew McIntyre announced on Friday Night SmackDown to challenge Roman Reigns for the Undisputed Universal Title at Clash at the Castle in Principality Stadium in the UK. Although McIntyre has announced his challenge, it is unsure if the title changes hand at SummerSlam, which could lead to a different match at Clash at the Castle.
