WWE Money in the Bank 2023 MatchCard
Men’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match
The qualifying matches for the Men’s MITB ladder match started on May 29, 2023. Primarily Ricochet defeated The Miz to qualify for the ladder match. Then Shinsuke Nakamura defeated Bronson Reed to qualify for the ladder match. Moving forward, LA Knight, Santos Escobar, and Butch qualified by defeating Montez Ford, Mustafa Ali, and Baron Corbin respectively. Lastly, Damian Priest defeated Matt Riddle to qualify for the Men’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match.
However, Logan Paul later revealed that he would also be competing in the Men’s MITB Ladder Match without having to qualify.
Thus, the final participants of the Men’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match are Ricochet, Shinsuke Nakamura, LA Knight, Santos Escobar, Butch, Damian Priest, and Logan Paul.
Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match
The Qualifying Matches for Women’s MITB ladder match kicked off on June 2, 2023. Zelina Vega defeated Lacey Evans to be the first qualifier. Then, Becky Lynch defeated Sonya Deville and Zoey Stark defeated Natalya to qualify for the Ladder Match. Moving forward, Bayley and IYO Sky qualified by defeating Mia Yim and Shotzi respectively. Finally, Trish Stratus defeated Raquel Rodriguez to take up the last spot in the Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match.
Thus, the final participants for the Women’s MITB ladder match are Zelina Vega, Becky Lynch Zoey Stark, Bayley, IYO Sky, and Trish Stratus.
Cody Rhodes vs Dominik Mysterio
Previously, Cody Rhodes appeared as a special guest on The Miz TV. However, the Miz then called out Dominik Mysterio and Rhea Ripley. A war of words then began between Cody Rhodes and Dominik Mysterio.
Dominik then pretended to leave the ring, however, he came back and slapped Rhodes. Following that, Cody Rhodes challenged Dominik Mysterio to a match at MITB which Ripley accepted on Dominik’s behalf. Thus, Cody Rhodes and Dominik Mysterio will face each other in a singles bout at the upcoming PPV event.
Seth Rollins vs Finn Balor
Previously, Seth Rollins successfully defended his WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Damian Priest. However, during the match, Finn Balor tried to run interference but ate a superkick from Rollins. Following the match, Balor and Rollins had a staredown inside the ring.
Following that, Finn Balor stated that just like Rollins took away everything from him at SummerSlam 2016, he would do the same to Rollins at MITB.
With that, Finn Balor challenged Seth Rollins to a title match at WWE Money in the Bank, which Seth Rollins gladly accepted.
Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa vs The Usos
At WWE Night of Champions 2023, Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa faced Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship. However, the Usos ran interference during the match and accidentally delivered a Superkick to Solo Sikoa. A furious Roman Reigns shoved the Usos, which resulted in Jimmy Uso delivering a Superkick to their Tribal Chief. Reigns and Sikoa finally lost the bout.
Following that, Roman Reigns’ celebration of 1000 days as the Universal Champion took place. The Usos walked out during the celebration and a war of words began between Roman Reigns and Jimmy Uso. However, Roman Reigns ended up hugging Jimmy Uso. But, Reigns then said “No” on the mic, which resulted in Solo Sikoa attacking Jimmy Uso.
Jey Uso then had to make a tough choice of either sticking by his twin brother or choosing to side with the rest of the Bloodline. Jey finally choose Jimmy over Reigns and attacked Reigns. Following this, a match between Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa vs The Usos was announced for the Money in the Bank 2023 event.
Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler vs Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez
Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez were previously the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions. However, they had to vacate the titles owing to Liv Morgan’s injury.
Following that, Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler won a fatal Four-Way Tag Team Match to become the new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions.
Moving forward, Rousey and Baszler defeated Isla Dawn and Alba Fyre to unify the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship and the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship. After the match, Raquel Rodriguez demanded a rematch and her tag team partner Liv Morgan made her return. With that, it was announced that Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler will defend the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship against Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez.
Gunther vs Matt Riddle
Previously, Matt Riddle along with Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens defeated The Imperium. Tension was then seen rising between Gunther and Riddle.
Gunther and Ludwig Kaiser then attacked Matt Riddle following his MITB qualifying match. Riddle then cost Gunther and Kaiser their Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship Match.
Moving ahead, Matt Riddle faced and defeated Ludwig Kaiser in a singles match. However, Gunther decimated Riddle following the end of the match. Riddle then challenged Gunther to a singles match at the upcoming pay-per-view event which Gunther accepted. Thus Matt Riddle will face Gunther for the WWE Intercontinental Championship at WWE Money in the Bank 2023.
