Date: Saturday, September 9, 2023.
Location: Hyderabad.
The date and location of the upcoming WWE event in India have been confirmed by Sportskeeda Wrestling.
WWE India Events
The upcoming WWE India event which is scheduled to take place on September 2023, won’t be the first WWE event to be held in the country. Prior to this, several WWE events took place in India.
The first event was held in 1996 when WWE used to be World Wrestling Federation. The name of the event was ‘WWF Tour of India‘ and it took place in Mumbai, Maharastra. Also, the main event of the show featured a WWF World Heavyweight Championship match between Bret Hart vs Tatanka.
Apart from that, WWE held the ‘WWE Raw Tour of India‘ in 2002, which was a three-day event that continued from November 22, 2002, to November 24, 2002. The event took place in three different cities and featured three different main events on each night.
Following that, WWE held ‘WWE Live Tour India 2016‘, and ‘WWE Live India Supershow‘. Also, in 2021, WWE organized a special episode for the Indian audience, called the ‘WWE Superstar Spectacle‘, which was aired on the Republic Day of India.
In addition to that, as a part of promotional tours, several WWE Superstars have visited India. Now, moving forward, WWE Superstars will once again visit the country as a part of the 2023 WWE India Event.
