Seven defeats in the current cycle – Things have gone bad to worse in the current cycle for Joe Root and company as they have lost seven encounters from 12, with four draws. Before the 0-1 series loss to West Indies, they were humiliated 0-4 by Australia in the Ashes. Latest loss applied more pressure on the team and its management.

What next for the England army – While JOE Root’s army heals from the pain of loss, they will play no Test cricket in next two months.
England’s next assignment will be against New Zealand in a three-match Test series starting June 2.
They will also South Africa visiting them for another three-match Test series, before India play them in a solitary Test, which wasn’t completed last year. Any more failures in the upcoming series shall see any hopes of England making the WTC final disappear.
Australia still top – While England were losing to the West Indies, Australia on the other hand made sure they tightened their grip at summit of the table by capturing the Lahore Test against Pakistan.
They sit with 75 per cent rating points followed by South Africa and India.
India in WTC Points Table: India meanwhile occupies No. 3 position in WTC Points table. India has 75 Points & a win percentage of 58.33 in 11 tests.
South Africa occupies 2nd position with win percentage of 60%.
